Racism: Where Are The Lines Drawn?

This article is about people from politicians to regular people making racial taunts against President Obama. One image made him look like an African witch doctor and made his wife look like a gorilla. Personally, I think that racism in America will never fade away. There is always going to be racism in America. Some people are just raised by their parents or communities to hate another race. Some people might be civil amongst another race but that does not mean that they like them. Whether you are White, Black, Asian, or Hispanic you will always have some racial stereotype against another person’s race, whether it is poking fun at people or straight forward hatred.
I also believe that racism is a part of everyday life. Comedians make racial jokes all the time. I think that people laugh at it because they get nervous because racism is a sensitive subject. Some people object to comedians making racial jokes. I, however, do not care. I find a lot of jokes that other would consider racist, funny. I make racial jokes about my own race all the time. I just do not like it when you are in a serious situation and someone says something racist. You never know though. A funny situation can turn into a serious one in a heart beat. The line between funny and serious is sometimes difficult to see.
